Ella is another charming hill town, known for its natural beauty and adventurous opportunities. Nestled amidst tea plantations, Ella is an excellent destination for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts. The area is surrounded by lush green hills, and some of the most popular hikes include Ella Rock and Little Adam’s Peak, both of which offer breathtaking views of the landscape.
The Nine Arch Bridge is an architectural marvel and a popular spot for tourists. Visitors can watch trains passing through the bridge while enjoying the lush greenery surrounding it, making it an excellent spot for photography.
Nuwara Eliya, often referred to as “Little England,” is a stunning hill station in the central highlands of Sri Lanka. It is celebrated for its lush tea plantations, temperate climate, and colonial architecture, which transport visitors to a bygone era.
Nuwara Eliya’s climate is notably cooler than the rest of Sri Lanka, earning it the nickname “Little England.” This climate, combined with its charming gardens and colonial-style buildings, contributes to the town’s unique atmosphere. Victoria Park, in the heart of Nuwara Eliya, is a beautiful garden filled with vibrant flowers and is an excellent place for a leisurely stroll.
Ella is known for many attractions, of which we have selected the most interesting and most visited by travelers from all over the world. You will see the Ravana waterfall shrouded in ancient legend, a hundred-year-old nine-arch bridge built by British colonists, and climb the small peak of Adam, from the height of which you can enjoy magnificent views of the mountain ranges overgrown with greenery. Overnight at the hotel
Traveling by train has long been a must-have and highly desirable pastime for travelers in Sri Lanka. That is why, after breakfast at the hotel, we will go to the Ella railway station in order to board the train and travel part of our way by train along the road known for some of the most beautiful views from the window in the world. Arriving at Nanuoya station, we will move to Nuwara Eliya, a respectable high-mountain town founded by the British and retaining the English charm of the last century. Overnight at the hotel.
We will start the third day of sightseeing, after breakfast, with a visit to the oldest functioning post office on the island, where everyone can send postcards to family, friends, and even themselves as a keepsake of visiting this historic place. After that, we will go to conquer the 48-meter observation tower Ambuluwawa, known for its external spiral staircase and magnificent views for many kilometers around. On the way, you will also see one of the most beautiful waterfalls on the island, St. Clair. In addition, we will visit the fortress of the famous tea house Mlesna, which has its own small museum of the history of the island's tea industry, a tea boutique of the company, and wonderful viewing platforms with views of the endless tea lands of the Nuwara Eliya region and the Devon Falls.
