Udawalawe, located in the southern part of Sri Lanka, is renowned for its exceptional natural beauty and its most prominent feature, the Udawalawe National Park. This park is a wildlife enthusiast’s dream, especially for those interested in observing elephants in their natural habitat. The Udawalawe National Park is one of the best places in Sri Lanka to see these majestic creatures roaming freely. The expansive grasslands and water reservoirs within the park create a perfect environment for the elephants and numerous other wildlife species.

Visitors to Udawalawe can embark on thrilling jeep safaris that offer a chance to witness not only elephants but also an array of wildlife, including buffalo, deer, crocodiles, and a wide variety of bird species. The scenic landscapes of the park, with its rolling hills and lush vegetation, provide a picturesque backdrop for these incredible wildlife encounters.

Ella is a small, picturesque town nestled in the central highlands of Sri Lanka. Surrounded by lush green hills and tea plantations, Ella offers a serene and laid-back atmosphere that appeals to nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. One of the town’s most famous attractions is the Ella Gap, a stunning viewpoint that offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and distant coastal plains.

Ella is also well-known for its scenic hiking trails. The most popular hike in Ella is to Ella Rock, which rewards hikers with breathtaking vistas of the landscape. Another must-visit spot is Little Adam’s Peak, a relatively easy trek that leads to a stunning viewpoint.

The Nine Arch Bridge is an architectural marvel and a popular spot for tourists. Visitors can watch trains passing through the bridge, and the lush greenery surrounding it creates a magical setting for photography.

Ella is also known for its tea culture, and you can visit one of the local tea factories to learn about the tea-making process. The town’s relaxed atmosphere, delicious local cuisine, and friendly locals make it a favorite stop for travelers exploring the hill country of Sri Lanka.

Our first day will begin with a visit to the Udawalawe Morning Safari.

Then we will head to Mount Ella, and on the way we will see a Buduruwagala Temple and waterfall shrouded in ancient legends - Ravana.

Next, we will visit the famous nine-arch bridge and climb the small peak of Adam.

Overnight at the hotel In Ella.

After breakfast, we will arrive at Demodara station, board the train, and travel along part of one of the most beautiful railway routes in the world to Haputale station. Our train route will pass through the nine-arch bridge and will last a little over an hour.

And then go to the high-mountain town of Haputale, where we will explore the former estate of an English aristocrat and planter, and the current Catholic monastery of the Brotherhood of St. Benedict—Adisham.

Next, we will go to the Diyaluma Waterfall and back to your hotel.
